Udaipur city, has very strong connection with heritage and culture of the state. We can see old buildings, monuments and door across the city.
During my visit to udaipur city attended the Shilpgram festival. Shilpgram is basically a handicraft fair in which different types of hand woven clothes, embroideries, mirror works, handicrafts are showcased.. This fair takes place in the western part of Udaipur in Rajasthan.
The view of city from the top is best to experience.
An elaborate memorial monument in the shape of a two-storied Chhatri, which is a pillar dome, is situated on the Jhajjar road at the entrance to the farrukhnagar town.
The most attractive feature of the place is the colorful Chitrakala that narrates the life of Lord Krishna carved on the ceiling of the monument. An inscription within the ceiling frescoes dates it to Vikram Samvat 1918, i.e. 1861 AD.
It has eight arched openings on each floor and floral decorative designs. The Chattri has a pointed arched opening that makes the place bright and airy. It was also used as the Hawa Mahal.
The monument was very vibrant at one point of time. As on date due to lack of maintenance and negligence the monument is surrounded by weeds all over. One can however still see and feel the extravagant architecture that was once done on it.
The name (Sethani Ki Chhatri ) suggests that it belonged to a merchants wife.

It was an official trip to Pune and there I clicked some of the images of the Pune city. I love one thing about Pune city is that the city is in touch with old and precious monument and there is a sense of relaxation whenever you enter in Pune.
Visited kwality Restaurant on East Street which set shop way back in 1956. Needless to say, this place has many firsts to its credit. The ambiance of the restaurant was good, and the interior design of the restaurant was in touch with old scripts and designs.
Passing by Pune I managed to clicked some more photos keeping the old theme in mind 🙂
